Digital Agency Recruiting for Teams That Just Won the Pitch
Contract, contract-to-hire, and direct placement creative, technical, and account talent, from recruiters who know how agencies actually staff.
You won the account. Kickoff is in three weeks. And the team you pitched with is already fully booked on the work that paid for last quarter. Every agency lives in this gap, and the usual answer is either overloading the people you have or gambling on whoever's available. Catch finds creative and digital talent who can walk into a live account and contribute by the second week: designers with portfolios that hold up, developers who've shipped client work, account people who can hold a room. From Art Directors to Product Designers to Digital Producers, we deliver talent that fits your team, your clients, and your culture.
Three Ways to Get the People You Need
Different problems, different solutions. Here's how agencies actually use us.
Contract Staffing
When you need capacity, not headcount.
This is the one agencies use most, and for good reason. Your book of business moves in waves and your payroll doesn't. Catch puts vetted creative and technical professionals on your team for the length of the engagement, on our payroll, so you can staff to the work instead of guessing a year ahead and eating the difference.
Vetted talent with real agency and client-services experience
Co-employment protection, we handle W2, payroll, and compliance
Scale to the account, then scale back when it wraps
Protect utilization without turning down work
Local presence with a national footprint
Direct Placement
When the seat needs a long-term owner.
Some hires define the shop. A Creative Director, a Head of Design, a Director of Client Services, a technical lead who sets the standard for everything you ship. For those, we run the full search: position-specific sourcing, pre-screening, portfolio review, and selection, then stay in it as your partner all the way through offer and close.
Talent attraction and engagement strategy built for your agency
Position-specific sourcing and long-term pipeline development
Portfolio and book review before anyone reaches your calendar
Interviewing strategy and development
A strategic partner and liaison through the close, not a resume vending machine
Contract-To-Hire
When you want to test the waters.
Agencies are cultures more than companies, and you know within a month whether someone fits yours. Bring them on contract, put them on a real account, and convert when you're sure. Both sides get an honest look, which matters more in a shop of thirty than almost anywhere else.
Try before you commit, and so do they
Lower risk on senior creative and client-facing roles
Clean, straightforward conversion terms
Candidates get a genuine feel for your culture and your client mix

Why Agencies Keep Calling Us Back
TALENT
Fully-vetted, offer-ready candidates of the highest quality. In creative work that means we look at the portfolio before the resume, and we look at it properly: what they actually did versus what their team shipped, whether the work fits the caliber of your clients, and whether they've operated at agency pace with agency feedback cycles. A beautiful portfolio built over eight months of grad school is a different signal than one built on live accounts. We don't forward resumes, we send people who are ready to say yes.
TIME
Your team is producing work, managing clients, and probably pitching something this week. Reviewing 200 portfolios isn't the job, and creative hiring is uniquely time-expensive because you have to actually look at the work to know anything. We do that filtering so your creative director sees five real options instead of fifty maybes. We free up your time and resources so you can get back to the work that moves the business.
TEAM
A tenured crew with deep industry knowledge and real relationships. Our recruiters know their way around design agencies and scrum teams alike, understand why a brand designer and a product designer aren't interchangeable no matter what the job board says, and can tell the difference between someone who's led work and someone who's executed it. You get people who've been doing this a while, not a rotating cast of order-takers.
Who We Are
Catch Talent is a high-touch recruiting agency that delivers end-to-end talent acquisition solutions to growing technology, financial services, healthcare, digital and creative, professional services, and government contracting companies.
Headquartered in Charleston, SC, we specialize in the full talent attraction lifecycle: sourcing and recruiting qualified candidates who are interview-ready, culturally-aligned, and ready to make an immediate impact.
The Catch Crew knows its way around design agencies, and we've spent years placing creative and technical talent with digital shops, brand studios, and in-house creative teams across the country. We understand how agencies win work, how they staff it, and what happens to a team when the staffing math goes wrong. That work built the network, and the network is what you're hiring.
Built on relationships. Focused on people. That’s how we work.
How Can Catch Help You and Your Team?
Tell us what you're building and who you need on it. Whether it's one senior designer for an account that starts Monday or an entire client-services team, we'd love to hear about it. Fill out the short form and we'll be in touch quickly, with actual humans.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The whole shop. Creative leadership, art direction, product and experience design, copywriting, and motion on the creative side. Front-end and full-stack development on the build side. Producers, project managers, and resource managers keeping it moving. Plus account management, strategy, media, new business, and the operations roles that hold an agency together.
-
Both, and contract is what most agencies come to us for first. Your book of business moves in waves and your payroll doesn't, so staffing to the account instead of to a guess is usually the smarter play. We place contract, contract-to-hire, and direct, and plenty of agencies use all three of us in the same year.
-
We review the work. In creative hiring a resume tells you almost nothing, so we look at the portfolio properly: what this person actually did versus what their team shipped, whether the caliber matches your client roster, and whether the range fits the brief. Your creative director should be seeing a short list of real candidates, not a stack of maybes.
-
Yes, and that's the core case for contract staffing at an agency. You take the work without betting the payroll on it lasting forever. We can ramp a team for a defined engagement and wind it down cleanly when the scope wraps, which protects your utilization on both ends.
-
Both, but agencies are a distinct animal and we treat them that way. Agency work means faster cycles, more clients, more feedback, and a higher tolerance for ambiguity than most in-house roles require. We screen for that specifically, because someone who thrived on one brand for four years doesn't always thrive juggling six.
-
Faster than a job post and a hope. Because we work from an existing network instead of starting cold, most searches produce a qualified slate quickly. Actual timing depends on the role, the market, and how specific the aesthetic or technical fit needs to be. Tell us the position and we'll give you a straight answer on what's realistic.
-
Contract means the professional works your accounts but sits on our payroll, ideal for project surges and defined engagements. Contract-to-hire is the same setup with a built-in path to convert them once you're confident. Direct placement means we run a full search and they join your agency as a permanent employee from day one.
-
Both. Catch is headquartered in Mount Pleasant, SC and we know the Southeast market deeply, but we recruit and place nationally, including for remote and hybrid creative teams. Local presence, national footprint. If you're hiring in a market we haven't worked yet, tell us and we'll be honest about what we can do.
-
It depends on the engagement model and the role. Contract staffing is billed at an hourly rate that includes wages, burden, and our fee. Direct placement is a fee based on the hire. There's no cost to have the first conversation, and we'll walk you through the numbers before anything gets signed.
-
We stand behind our placements. Direct placement engagements include a guarantee period, and on contract engagements we can swap talent if the fit isn't right. The specifics get spelled out in your agreement, and we'd rather over-communicate on this upfront than surprise anyone later.
